Trick or treat!

Happy Halloween, friends!

Fall is one of my favorite times of year for many reasons. The weather, the clothes...the holidays! Halloween is a great holiday for crafts, candies and especially costumes.

For today's { Monday Marvel } I have a great Halloween craft that is perfect for your DIY creative peeps! And, extra bonus...this craft can easily shift right over to our next holiday coming up: Thanksgiving!

Pumpkins are oh so fun to carve, but did you ever think of decorating? This project from { Green Eyed Monster } shows a 'glamorous' way to decorate your pumpkins for the holiday.

Cheers!

Back in the college days, Thursday would be considered "Thirsty Thursday". These days, I don't quite practice exactly what we used to late Thursday evenings, but I will dabble in a glass of wine. Remember the good old days gave me an idea to feature a few signature wedding cocktails on the blog today in honor of the once celebrated Thirsty Thursday.

Thanks to Martha, here are a few mixes to whip up on your special day!

1. Classic Champagne Cocktail
2. Sweet Negroni Cocktail
3. Pink Elephant Signature Cocktail
4. Fall Signature Cocktail

Guests will be sure to enjoy a glass or two of any one of these recipes, and hey, they might be pretty fun to mix up tonight!

Cheers!

Monday Marvel

What a beautiful day!

I hope everyone had a glorious weekend, I know I sure did! For those of you who don't know, or don't follow my social media religiously { tisk tisk }, my sister's Bridal Shower was this past weekend. Oh, I've been anxiously awaiting for this day! I have been diligently working on designs and gathering decor for my sister's special day with high hopes it would all come together. And it did! My sister had a wonderful day and enjoyed every minute.

I have been waiting for post this for quite some time, and today is finally the day! Today's { Monday Marvel } is all about my sister's Bridal Shower invitation! Yay!

I'm very pleased with my design! It set the pace for all of my other designs and things for the shower. Including a Bridal Shower sign, favors, and even a special VIP seating sign for the Bride!

Thanks for marveling! I'll be posting again tomorrow with a much needed and overdue { Tuesday Shoesday }. Ps, I hope you all took a gander at my freshly updated site! Just a few tweaks here and there, but I thought it was time to spruce her up a bit.

Whoops!

My dear followers, I apologize for my lack of blog lovin'! I'm slacking in my daily posts due to job hunting and Bridal Shower planning for my sister. Oh, and I'm still on the slow float down from cloud nine after the big 'I said yes!' event.

I'll be back in little Wilmington on Sunday and starting a fresh new week!  Designing, good news, networking, the works. Lots of lovely things are coming up and I am very excited to share them with you!

Have a fabulous weekend, friends!

“Yes!”

Saturday, October 1st was by far one of the most beautiful fall days Wilmington has seen yet. Clear skies, a cool morning, the weather was quite promising. My Marine and I had made plans to have a romantic little picnic on the beach, an idea I picked up from a fellow Marine spouse. I was thrilled, thinking we were finally doing something cute and romantic! The past few months have been quite chaotic and it was great for my Marine to recommend the little outing.

After prancing around Harris Teeter picking out all the finest cheeses and hors d'oeuvres, I scampered on over to the wine and beer section and decided we should have a little bubbly for our date. Champagne for two please!

We drove down to the beautiful and quiet southern tip of Wrightsville Beach. Glorious doesn't even explain just how perfect it was. The weather, the scenery, all of it was just so lovely. My only regret is not having taken pictures. I held back on my social media just to enjoy the night. We picked a secluded spot and laid down our blanket and set ourselves up a nice little picnic for two.

After having our fill of crackers and cheese, I decided it was about time we broke open that champagne! Seamus said he would do the honor and turned to his side to open the bag with the bottle. It was a tad windy on the beach that evening, and he looked at me and said "Will you stand in front of me and block the wind?" I let out a sigh and picked myself up off the blanket to stand in front of him...

Where he was on one knee. Shuffling around in his USMC bag for something...and out came a little red box. My heart started pounding as he opened the box and started to speak. The only words I could conjure up were "Is this a joke?". Completely stunned by what was going on, I had no clue what to do. I heard bits and pieces of his prepared speech, but the only thing I could think was "Is this really happening to me?" Finally, he stared at me looking for a response and I was still looking at him bright eyed. Once again, he asked "Will you marry me?" With a screech and an over the top "Yes!" he slid the ring on and I bounced into his arms.

My Marine and I are engaged.

After almost hitting the four year mark, we're engaged. We have been through a tremendous amount together, both good and bad, only proving our relationship to be one of the strongest. Words can not describe the feelings I have towards him and how terrific it feels to finally say we are engaged to be married. Typing the words makes me giddy!

This silly boy stole my heart years ago and it has never been a dull moment since. My heart is filled with excitement thinking of what is to come.

Cheers to yet another fabulous adventure in my life! Goodness me, what will next week bring?
