Moon and Lola

Hello { Moon and Lola }!

These little jewels are my fabulous find for the week. Designer and creator of Moon and Lola, Kelly Shatat, is a (believe it or not) pharmacist - turned - jewelry designer. Realizing her love for fashion and jewelry, she began creating trendy and girly designs that are being sold, well pretty much everywhere. Even down here in Wilmington! Her collection is described as 'polished, lady-like and oh-so-classic.' Agreed.

1. Cutout Monogram Necklace
2. Bradford Earrings
3. Dubai Earrings
4. Le Meurice Necklace
5. Waterside Necklace
6. Liverpool Necklace

Quite the little gems, aren't they? I just love the style. Monogram necklace is certainly a must have. Check out more of her designs on her website and be sure to find a store carrying her pieces near you!

Love me some Lilly!

I've died and gone to Lilly heaven.

Today's { Monday Marvel } is all about vibrant prints! And Lilly Pulizer has taken us right up that alley. Holy prints! I am happy as a clam. These bright pink and green colors take me back to my good ole preppy high school days. Pearls, bows, Polo and pink! Don't you dare judge. And even back to college when picking out only the hottest colors for sorority letters was the cool thing to do.

This collection of affordable and stylish goodies are vibrant and totally great for summer. And they make for great gifts as well! Well played Lilly, well played. I like your style...

1. Lunch Tote $19.95
2. iPad Cover $29.95
3. Cafe Lilly Mug $9.95
4. Sailor Bracelet $7.95
5. Kiki Sunglasses $125.00
6. iPhone Cover { 3G } $19.95

A little splash of summer colors to brighten your day!

Designsbyber

For today's post, I'm throwing in a little local flare for you lovlies.

Wilmington local, Amber, shop owner of { Designsbyber } is the creator of some of the cutest sustainable and earth friendly products around. Inspired by the vibrant colors and nature around her, she takes her textile designs to another level!

My favorite products? Her adorable new line of iPad cases. Even though I technically don't own one, these make me want one. Bad! I would love to strut around with my cute little iPad and case. Hello? Who wouldn't.

Be sure to check out the rest of her shop! She has wonderful handmade goodies. Did I mention how earth friendly she is? She only uses natural yarns and fabrics such as cotton, wool, or silk or to recycle fabrics...this girl is on her way to saving the earth...one home accessory at a time!

Happy Thursday everyone!

"Big girls need big diamonds."

You don't become an icon of the silver screen without leaving a lasting impact on those you've touched. Elizabeth Taylor, who passed away at age 79 early this morning after a battle with congestive heart failure, was no exception.  { E Online }

So many things to celebrate!

This officially marks my 100th post for Alexandra Nicole Design! Hooray me! I guess that means I have to make it extra special...

What luck today is both St. Patrick's Day and the 150th Birthday of Italy! Today, I'm posting a few of my favorite finds in green...and white and red! Must be sure to celebrate both holidays. Hence, the celebratory beer in honor of my Irish boyfriend and a glass of wine for me.

In light of the colorful holidays, I have a few great finds from the oh so wonderful ModCloth.com.

1. Red-y and Rarin' to Go Dress
2. Oh Pear Bracelet
3. Semillon Flat
4. Malai Laddu Dress
5. Best-Dressed List Bag
6. Here to Infinity Scarf in Scarlet

For Japan With Love

The recent events of devastation in Japan have shaken me to the core. Seeing the vivid images of a world destroyed in but a few moments, my heart goes out to the survivors, their loves ones, and those lost. Efforts around the world are being made and while most of us can't just hop on a plane overseas and single handedly save the world, there are other ways to make a difference.

Through the blogging and twittering world, I discovered a way to get involved, a way to immediately take action. { Utterly Engaged } have teamed up with the amazing { Lydia of Ever Ours } and created a fundraising page: { www.ForJapanWithLove.com } that’s specifically geared to help with that. They have handpicked { ShelterBox } as the organization to donate to. The following information is being passed along to my lovely readers with hopes that you might make a change.

{ ShelterBox } provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most. Each large, green { ShelterBox } is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. Please join us. We know it won’t save the nation, but we strongly believe every little helps.  Whatever you can contribute, we truly appreciate.

Part two of getting involved...

This Friday, March 18th will be a Bloggers Day of Silence. No posts, not chitter chatter, no nothing. This Day of Silence will be in memory of the victims in Japan. I will personally be posting my last post of the week this Thursday, officially signing out for the weekend. If you are a blogger and would like to participate in the day of silence, the guidelines are super simple! If you have any questions, feel free to email [email protected] or [email protected]

Pretty simple! I encourage everyone to take part in this to raise awareness...

Technical Difficulties...

Oh hello world. Today has been one heck of a dysfunctional day.

Beginning my day with coming into work late 40 minutes late due to iPhone malfunctioning, then realizing the plug on my external hard drive is broken, to being dumped on by emails at work. Yay Monday! I hate you.

So for the next day or so I'll be experiencing a few technical difficulties until the Geek Squad can save my poor baby hard drive and bring it back to life. After of course spending $150 I don't have. Lovely.

But just in case you missed it...

I was featured on { Becoming the Mrs. } last Friday as a Guest Blogger! I submitted a crafty and witty post that I hope all of my readers enjoyed. Just in case you missed it...

Hooray! There she blows! "Put Some Pet in Your Photo Booth" is a piece on spicing up your special day with a photo booth and props! It's a pretty grand idea, if I do say so myself.

If you missed the piece, click { here } and take a look!

I'm sure you'll enjoy! I'll be posting soon lovelies, until I get my life aka hard drive back...

Fiesta! Fiesta!

Ladies and gentleman, I have a fantástico post for you today. I am proud to announce that my sister will be walking down the aisle at the end of this year, and that means celebrations are in order. First order of business, the engagement party! After sealing the deal at the location, the theme fell into place. Located at an extremely fun local Mexican restaurant, this fiesta is going to be quite the occasion. And you bed your toosh there will be staches! Or as my sister likes to put it...mustachioosssss!

I can not tell you how excited I am for this wedding. One, it's my sister. Two, IT'S MY SISTER! Three, I get to design everything. Yup, filled with glee! I'm going to quote one of my favorite bloggers...AMAZEBALLS! Can. Not. Wait.

Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday lovelies, I'll be posting again very soon.
