The recent events of devastation in Japan have shaken me to the core. Seeing the vivid images of a world destroyed in but a few moments, my heart goes out to the survivors, their loves ones, and those lost. Efforts around the world are being made and while most of us can't just hop on a plane overseas and single handedly save the world, there are other ways to make a difference.
Through the blogging and twittering world, I discovered a way to get involved, a way to immediately take action.
{ Utterly Engaged } have teamed up with the amazing
{ Lydia of Ever Ours } and created a fundraising page:
{ www.ForJapanWithLove.com } that’s specifically geared to help with that. They have handpicked
{ ShelterBox } as the organization to donate to. The following information is being passed along to my lovely readers with hopes that you might make a change.
{ ShelterBox } provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most. Each large, green { ShelterBox } is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. Please join us. We know it won’t save the nation, but we strongly believe every little helps. Whatever you can contribute, we truly appreciate.
Part two of getting involved...
This
Friday, March 18th will be a
Bloggers Day of Silence. No posts, not chitter chatter, no nothing. This Day of Silence will be in memory of the victims in Japan. I will personally be posting my last post of the week this Thursday, officially signing out for the weekend. If you are a blogger and would like to participate in the day of silence, the guidelines are super simple! If you have any questions, feel free to email
[email protected] or
[email protected]
Pretty simple! I encourage everyone to take part in this to raise awareness...
